This is the progress Rich made on Sunday. It's really starting to look more like the final product! We still have to order more "Green" parts b/c we didn't want the bright yellow slides that came with it, so I'm not sure how far off the final completion really is?! We have different goals as we're building this... Rich wants it as far off the side of the yard as he can and I want it right where I can see it well out my window, so I can watch the kids playing while I am cooking dinner or lunch. It's kinda right in between those two areas.Poor Kadie, her toe nails were really really long. Rich can not cut them now b/c of his broken arm. She is VERY VERY strong. So today I took her to the vet to get them trimmed. My travels were not much fun b/c Kadie insists on pooping IN the car whenever I take her somewhere! She very rarely if ever does this to Rich?! So here I am half way to my destination, trying to get her poop cleaned out the car w/out her running down the street w/ me attached. ugh! she drives me crazy!!!! Kadie doesn't have a very good reputation where ever we go. She has special "notes" on her chart...We've been told a few times that they will only take her if they can anesthetize her which is more money!!. Anyways.. whenever we take her somewhere new, they are insistent they can do this! HA! they haven't met Kadie!!! So the process began w/ me giving her a Benedryl yesterday to see if it made her sleepy. Here she is looking a little tired.. but when I opened the door to let her out, she ran w/ full force, to beat Zoie... she certainly did not look "drunk" as they put it. So the next option was for me to come pick up some "Ace". The Vet was insistent that THIS would do the trick. So I gave it to her, and I was all concerned about getting her in the car before she fell asleep. They said they would have to meet me in the parking lot to bring her in since I couldn't lift her weight pregnant. Well The pill did NOTHING for Kadie! It didn't calm her down at all. The lady came out and got her and took her directly to a room. I sat in the waiting room w/ this poor lady who had her 2 kids and their kitten. Kadie let out the most awful howls and barks and growls that you can imagine. These poor kids were clinging to their mom practically in tears b/c it was so upsetting to them. Me, I was just kinda laughing, wondering what was going on behind the closed doors! She is a BEAST to control! I don't particularly like the dog anyways, so I can't say I felt too bad for her to be tied down getting her nails trimmed. Anyways.. they open the door and out comes the assistant, COVERED in hair from head to toe... and the Doctor follows close behind. He very quickly and firmly tells me that they will NOT be cutting Kadie's nails again unless she is anesthetized, and that he's making a NOTE on her chart! I tried to tell them that, but no one ever listens. I had to chuckle at the looks on their faces and just wonder how they survived the battle. I was SHOCKED to hear they managed to do this w/ out a muzzle and did not get bit!
