Just a quick update. I'm not sure what to expect today. One of my doctors is calling me in to Labor and Delivery this morning to be checked out b/c I was having the beginning stages of preeclampsia on Thursday. I have been on bedrest since my appointment Thursday afternoon. Since then the swelling in my feet has changed drastically. I actually have ankles now! So I'm assuming the report today will be good? But I also feel if I have a choice I don't want to wait for the preeclampsia to get bad and then deliver, I'd rather deliver while I'm healthy due to my retained placenta and past bleeding issues! There is a chance they will go ahead and include me today instead of waiting until Tuesday?! Please say some prayers for our safety!
Yesterday I received my H1N1 Vaccine. The nurses at the hospital all strongly suggested that I get it. They have seen a LOT of flu at the hospital, and in the maternity ward. I did a lot of research on the vaccine before receiving it b/c everyone seems to be all upset and worried about it. We felt it was a good choice to help protect the baby this winter season. So far I have not had any side effects or odd symptoms. (Our local health department was giving them away free starting yesterday to pregnant women and health care providers only). There was a lot of people in line!
The kids are still NOT allowed to go in to the hospital to meet the baby due to the H1N1 scare. They have changed their policy back and forth a bit but now it seems to be standing. I feel very bad about the kids not being the first to see their sister, but I'm glad the hospital is taking measures to protect the mom's and babies.
If I come back home today I will update, otherwise there may not be an update for a while!
