HAPPY NEW YEAR!!/ The Love Note

Backing up a bit... last night we took the kids out to see "Bedtime Stories" at the movie theater. Rich enjoyed it but I wasn't so crazy about it. The kids did well considering it wasn't really that good for them. Luke got it. Abby was just bored mostly and wanted a drink.
I was off to bed last night before the new year rang in. I was awoken at 12:08 by some nearby fireworks. Today we've just been hanging out.. I have been busy catching up on laundry.. that task never ends!

I was just organizing my November pictures and I forgot to mention this cute story. Back sometime in November I was hiding out from the kids taking a bath. I was feeling very overdone! This day I made sure to lock the door so no little "beasts" could come in. I say that b/c I hardly have the door shut and they come running knocking and pounding on the door talking through it, sticking their finger under the door... it's crazy! and hardly relaxing. My peace comes from knowing we are 4 feet apart.. and they can not touch me for 30 minutes. No leaning in to me w/ their elbows, sneezing on me, using my shirt to pull themselves up. ect..ect... sometimes a mama needs a little space!!! so.....
like clockwork I hear the doorknob turn, and the disgruntled voice saying MOM it's LOCKED!.. Luke is at the door trying to get in. I shout back, I'm taking a bath right now you can't come in, go play w/ Daddy. His rejected little voice answers back, but Mom, I made something for you.... feeling too tired to get out, dry off, and open the door I say, ok.. I'll look at it when I come out. Seconds later I hear the sound of paper as he attempts to shove his artwork between the carpet and the door (a tight space).. .pretty soon.. out pops this love note from my son.. w/ a piece of gum attached. Mommy melted!!!... reached for the gum (w/ wet hands) sampled it... opened the door and gave her lil' boy a kiss on the check and a big I love you and thank-you.

Looking back to Thanksgiving at Rich's parents house.. I found this video of Rich and the kids trying out their new Wii. It was rather entertaining sitting and watching them punch the air. I decided to take this video for Mom so you know WHAT a WII is! b/c not to long ago I didn't know either! :) apparently it's the new rage! I myself just can't get into it!
