Ready for the new year celebration!

Maybe I should title this "Ready for a new rear celebration!!!!" ugh!! Well I finally went to the ER last night. I should have gone last Saturday. :( anyways... I'll spare you the details and skip to the end. I was pretty bad off.. they gave me 2 Tylenol, 1 Motrin, a shot in the rear! and 3 medications to take. :( hopefully I'm finally on the mend!

I was pretty sore today so I just kinda laid around and didn't get much accomplished in the first few hours...then I got inspired to make a craft w/ the kids. My cousin sent the kids a craft book/calendar.. so we checked out Jan 1st. The kids made these fun little shakers to celebrate the new year coming up.

Here is Abby w/ the PINK and PURPLE Leapster Grandma got her! the only thing she does on here is play the "Color Corral" game. It's a cool drawing program that includes animated stamps that she can add to her picture. The rest of the games are to hard for her b/c they require knowledge in spelling and addition, so she'll have to grow in to those.
Luke was decorating his craft earlier today and he asked me if I could help him make a star. I put 5 dots down and showed him the correct way to connect the dots to create a star.. anyways to my amazement... after watching me once.. he has now become a pro at making his own stars! Watch this lil' video. It makes me laugh b/c when he was Abby's age, I taught him how to make his "K's" he never understood where the lines went to so I would draw little dots and say go to here... when he started making them he HAD to create his own dots to finish his K right... it will be fun to watch the progress and over time he learns to make a star w/ out dots! :)

This is the new marble/Lego toy we've been playing with. You can build all sorts of paths.. and take it apart and start over. They work w/ the kids "bigger Lego blocks". it's a really fun toy! I got this on eBay. I was looking for something different that's not in your average toy store. Something they can keep for years and still enjoy!

This is the "guilty look"... Zoie had taken one of the kids wrappers back to her cage for a good lick!
At the end of a loooooonnnnggggg day.. when I was feeling very done w/ the kids.. I quick read to them brushed their teeth and sent them to bed.. I had to stop and grab my camera b/c it was exciting to see Luke opening up his own Bible (a new Christmas present) and practice his verse over and over... :) although I am quite sure this was also a great opportunity to stay up a few minutes longer w/ out getting in trouble.. I'm still happy he's in the Word! :)
