Our Little Tattletale!

isn't she cute?!?!
to think this sweet little face told on her brother and herself big time today! It all started w/ the photo challenge I'm working on this week. I went to find the kids candy we brought back from our weekend away to take pictures of the "red candy".. the candy was no where to be found! So I called Rich to see if he had a stash downstairs somewhere?! He said no, and to look under Luke's bed. I looked everywhere I could think that a preschooler might hide candy. Couldn't find it... then I thought to ask Abby (Luke was at school). I go in the kitchen and say, "Abby do you know where your candy is" She nods her head and says yes, then runs to the living room and tells me they "snuck it"... I happened to have the camera around my neck, so I quick turned it on... and captured her revealing the hiding place. She then went on to show me where Luke had hidden his candy!...

Abby's candy...Luke's candy....I continued interviewing her about the candy.. I will have Rich add the video once we downsize it! It's hysterical! After spending a bit of time in thought. I decided not to say anything to Luke about the candy missing.. I took the candy away and hid it (b/c yesterday I told him very firmly that if he snuck any candy he would lose the whole bag). Then I replaced the candy w/ a note (in the same spot).. This afternoon he fell straight in to my trap.. After nap the kids asked for a "treat" I said well maybe? so they run to the drawer and look for their candy.. remembering their evil deeds... they then ran to the living room and checked behind the pillows.. then ran out to me and said Mom where is our candy.. I said to Luke " you tell me!" go back and look where you left it! .. pretty soon he comes out and tells me he does not like my note and he's going to throw it away. We are working on our "reaction to discipline".. so I reminded him to control himself. He quickly went to the kitchen and made a paper stating when he and Abby were going to get their candy back. Then he presented it to me. I took the note, folded it and threw it away and took away his computer privileges for being disrespectful.. he got out his marker once again.. and made another "calender." this time writing March at the top and then writing all the days of the month, looked me in the eye and "told me w/ out words.. take that".. so I told him he was continuing to be disrespectful.. and I took away his Lego's for the day. He went to pick up his marker again and I said "buddy, you better watch what you do!".. he carried on making a card that said "I'm sorry!"... I gave him a hug and told him I loved him.. but that he still needed to be disciplined. The kid is so descriptive w/ his words. Tonight on the way to Kindergarten registration he told us that he was "Hot as Fire" when he found out that I took his candy away. Oh boy and to think these little issues will be nothing someday compared to the teens years! So I registered Luke for Kindergarten w/ my feet dragging. I'm just not ready to send him off.. I think I'll never be ready. So I'm glad that he was ready! We checked out the playground and classrooms. Upon arriving back at home, Luke rushed around the house looking for school materials to put in a box. He's excited to go! and anxious to get himself ready. I'm glad he's so excited b/c I can't imagine trying to coax him in to going.. when it's already so hard on me! I about broke down in tears just walking up to the school... I'm going to be a mess next fall!!

PS I just noticed he scratched out the "I Love Mom" oh well... it hasn't been the first time! :(

all for now! -Beth
