Thursday we had Abby's lil' friend Sarah over while her Mommy went to volunteer at Kindergarten w/ her older sister. Abby and Sarah are just a few days apart and love many of the same things. They played so well together.. here they are doing....
Play-doh
Having a picnic on Abby's blanket (they did this themselves!) :)
Playing "doll-house" -it was great for Abby to play w/ Sarah b/c Sarah has learned from her big sister how to play dolls. Abby has learned from her big brother all the names of the Star Wars characters!
Working on shape puzzles together!
And finally.... this afternoon I went in for my first "normal check up". They listened for the baby's heartbeat via Doppler but it was hard to hear, so we ended up doing another ultrasound. I was so excited to see this close up picture of the baby sucking on it's hand! it's hard to see... but the baby is lying on it's back. looking up to the left.. it's arm is bent and hand near it's mouth. This photo does NOT show the butt or legs.. just the torso up... kinda confusing. Anyways.. Abby went to the appointment w/ me and when the doctor showed her the hand close up she said "How cute!!!" it was so fun to have her along. Luke is not as interested as Abby, and having the two of them together tends to cause trouble, so I left Luke at a friends house. I was very relieved to know the baby was doing well. And AMAZED to think at one inch long it's already sucking on it's hand. I received my Doppler Friday and have already heard the baby's heartbeat from my own home! a WONDERFUL stress relief for me to have access to this machine w/ all I've been through. I am going to try not to over-use it I'm reading that the use of it can be controversial.
