Counting Money, Flowers, and Fun in the Sun

Luke is very interested in earning money, saving it, counting how much he has and buying new Legos! It's actually becoming quite obsessive and I'm thinking we'll have to talk to him soon about better uses of our money, but the good thing is he is doing very well understanding coins and their value. Yesterday we took the kids to the library. I asked the librarian to help us find some books on money .We found a great DK book that talks about money from all different countries. I had saved money from our trip to Europe before they changed to the Euro, so we had fun looking through the book and seeing which coins we could find in my stash. We also read about about the case of the "shrunken allowance". Basically it teaches that you can have one 50 cent piece and it be the same amount as 50 pennies, but just takes up less space. We had fun making piles of 50 cents using different coins.

Here he is w/ my scrapbook of coins from Europe. Proud that he found a Canadian coin in his own stash and compared it to the one in the book.

Monday Luke asked to play in the sprinkler. As exhausted as I was, I wanted to say no, but I knew the warm weather would not stay, so I caved in. The kids had sooooooo much fun! I was excited to try Abby's new swimsuit on. Abby was pretty brave about the cold water and getting squirted in the face. Much braver then Luke has ever been. She put up w/ pretty much, but eventually got annoyed at Luke's persistence and good aim.
Here she is catching the water (our sprinkler doesn't spin)
kids running round and round the sprinkler laughing their heads off
Luke trying to aim at Abby.

A fun video of the kids playing outside in the sprinkler
Sunday I went around and snapped pictures in our garden. A lot of stuff is at it's best right now.

Lastly here is a short video of Abby at soccer practice. Isn't she cute?! :) she's so tiny out there!
