SKIING!

I've been itching to get out of the house and have some fun! All day I was counting down the hours to go skiing. I decided kinda VERY last minute to try Abby on the slopes. I figured, I can just hold her between my legs. I asked her, she wanted to do it. so we gave it a go! she LOVED IT! She's like mom "I can do it allll by myself!" yeah right! ... then she looked up at the lifts and said "Mama, can we go on there now!" So we did... she wasn't scared at all! I was able to trade the skis between the kids and save myself $22!! which was nice b/c they were just getting tight on Luke and seemed to fit Abby really well, considering they were a bit to big?! That's the nice thing about Luke being small I guess!! :) Here are some pictures from our adventure. Rich was kind enough to hobble out there and grab some shots.

FIRST time skiing!! and at age 2!!!!! (almost 3)

Mama started shedding layers b/c it was HARD work!

decisions....hmmmmmm
an exciting adventure and much needed trip OUT of the house!
Mommy continued the night skiing alone after Daddy took the kids home. I had so much fun. I was a little cautious my first run, then my 2nd run I just "bombed" it! it felt so good to ski so fast! I was smiling ear to ear! laughing out loud! and letting out screams of enjoyment! The lift operators were teasing about kicking me out b/c I was going so fast. I always tend to call a little attention to myself on the slopes b/c I'm the only girl out there in the "tuck" position, skiing straight all the way down as fast as I can. I even tried out the starting gate a few times and found someone to race. Towards the end of my night I ventured on over to the terrain park for some good jumps. I was laughing out loud w/ great excitement over catching some good air off the jumps and sailing down for a good landing. It's been a LONG time since this girl had some good runs. I enjoyed every moment!! and can't wait to go back! :) even if the hills are a bit "wimpy" here in Mansfield! ;) -Beth
