I'm beat! So.... on Tuesday just a few hours after we attended the Garden Gate fall activities Luke started coughing like crazy. We assumed he was coming down w/ a new sickness. All thru the night he struggled coughing and getting a good breath. I took him to the doctor first thing. He magially stopped coughing/wheezing.. and they sent us home w/ allergy medicine. I even took him to school b/c for those few minutes he did sound better. His teachers said he didn't act like himself, and into the day I could see that as well. He had a bit of a wheezy whistle sound. I was concerned about going to the funeral w/ Luke feeling so bad. We ended up going. While we were driving down, he would say about 3 words, catch his breath.. say a few more and catch his breath. He had his shoulders held high.. he was just not right. :( Rich kept Luke downstairs at the funeral home w/ the other kids and said he just wasn't acting himself. We ended up taking him in to the Fairview Hospital and I was relieved that they could see what I was seeing finally. They saw some mild retractions in his neck and by his ribs. They gave him 2 breathing treatments and a steroid and sent us home (at 1am!) we got home by 1:30! and then up for the funeral the next day. The breathing treatment really seemed to help him get back to his normal self. I was relieved he could go to sleep and not have to struggle to breathe so much. Today we're running like crazy again... I talked to Dr. Fain, she bumped up his appointment to 9:30, which was great b/c he was still coughing when I took him, so the doctor could see how he was better. We were told to continue the inhaler 3 times a day as long as he's still acting like this. I went to pick up his new steroid, (I left the other one in Cleveland)... but they won't let me get it b/c of insurance purposes... so I have to go back again to get it in a bit.. and pay cash. I'm so tired of running around! We stopped at school to get a form and pick up his school work. He was bummed he couldn't stay and play w/ the kids. When we got home, I pulled these papers below out of his bag... they were JUST what I needed to help w/ the stress level today! :) Love from my sweet boy! what's better than that? :)

Here are a few pictures from the funeral. It was a beautiful day and a great celebration of grandma's life. My favorite part was this man who came and played the bag-pipes at the service and at the cemetary. Grandma has a Scotish herritage so it was her wishes. Also my cousin's wife Michelle, spoke and said some words about Grandma and passed out her favorite candy, Kit Kat's, in honor of her. It was funny and a great idea!

our new "friend"..... I'm so thankful we have this in case he acts up again.. it just tears me apart to know he had to struggle all thru the night waiting for relief. Next time I'm taking him in! Even in the middle of the night! :( No more hay rides for Luke! :(
